Due to the unexpected positive response to the placement of the original ABITIBI Paper Retriever bin at the Sugar Creek Art Center in January, a second bin has been added. The additional bin comes to the community just in time for the ABITIBI Paper Retriever 2006 Great Paper Drive. Communities have the opportunity to compete for more than $140,000 in cash prizes for sponsoring organizations and sites. The Sugar Creek Art Center has an opportunity to win $500 by generating the most recyclable material between March 1 and April 30, 2006.
Paper Retriever bins accept newspapers, magazines, catalogs, and junk mail.
Items inappropriate or not accepted include:
Refuse from kitchens and bathrooms
"Here is a catalyst to move those stacks of catalogs and magazines that have accumulated during the winter," says coordinator Pat Gillogly. "Very seldom do you get an invitation to share your 'trash' with someone. The Center appreciates the overwhelming support of the Thorntown community."
