SCAC Welcomes Rae Marie Crisel & Heidi Harner

December - January

Heidi hails from Lafayette, IN and she has had a life-long interest in drawing. She began studying watercolor painting while living Colorado as a young woman. Since then her medium of choice has changed to oil paints, doing both plein air and studio painting. Her subjects of interest include horses, dogs, farm animals, and landscapes.

Heidi is an associate member of Women Artists of the West and a member of the CCA Gallery in Zionsville, IN. Heidi is published in the 2010 Summer edition of “The Cowboy Way”, and is in many horses in art magazines. Heidi makes the statement that when “I’m painting, especially plein air, I feel connected to God. My soul is satiated and contentedly full.”

Rae Marie comes to us from Zionsville, IN.
Rae Marie’s country heritage inspires her paintings of historic barns, landscapes, native birds, horses and flowers. She loves to catch the “spirit” of her subject and go from that point on. Her pottery collections reflect her country heritage. She uses texture to create a rustic feel, and to create images on her pieces. She has become known for her functional pumpkin shaped ware.

She exhibits her pottery at the CCA Gallery, and the Brick Street Mall, both in Zionsville. You can also find Rae Marie at many prestigious art shows across Indiana such as the Penrod Art Fair and the Broadripple Art Fair in Indianapolis.

Culture at the Creek - Jan 14th, 2010, 6-9pm.
